Explore how science and art work together at the Free Tri-Town Scientific Art Workshops on September 26–27, 2025. Led by Taneil Uttal, an atmospheric physicist and artist who has studied and explored the Arctic, this playful, hands-on session invites youth to observe, collect, sketch, and collage stories from their towns—Genoa, Limon, and Hugo. We’ll look at everyday objects and natural patterns the way scientists do, then turn those observations into creative artworks like sketches, collages, and treasure boxes. The group will finish by assembling a collaborative piece representing each town—as if each were its own ship sailing the ocean.
Cost: Free. Supplies provided: pens, pencils, markers, rulers, scissors, and glue. Bring: photos, broken items, cloth, jewelry, trinkets—anything with a story about you or your town—or head outside to collect rocks, plants, or clouds to sketch. All youth ages welcome.
Register: call or text Donna at 719-760-0449. Made possible with support from Arts in Society.
