Limon Heritage Day

Celebrate our diverse heritage. The day begins with the cemetery tour where 3 local families are honored. Then come down to the museum and railroad park to have a piece of homemade pie. Next wander through the grounds, the town hall, and the exhibit hall to see displays of handcrafts and the quilt show.

The Limon Heritage Museum & Railroad Park houses a Rock Island/Union Pacific Depot (listed on the National Historic Register), an Exhibit Building with permanent and changing displays, a 1914 Lunch Counter-Diner, Union Pacific caboose, 1890s boxcar, sheep wagons, a Cheyenne tipi, a Native American exhibit, working chuck wagon, and a one-room schoolhouse. The park includes windmills, machinery, prairie monument and picnic area.
